December 2021 Vermont Placemaking Meet-Up: Winter Markets

It may be cold, but don't let that keep you from organizing vibrant winter markets and supporting your local businesses.

Come dig into winter markets with Vermont & neighboring placemakers for our December monthly meet-up. We'll share examples of how communities are organizing pop-up and outdoor markets in the winter months as well as some creative indoor solution.

We took a month off for AARP’s statewide placemaking workshop, so this month is extra special! We're adding an extra 30 min to stay and chat about what folks would like this series to be in the new year. Come visit, hear stories, share examples, ask questions, and get to know fellow placemakers.

Got a great winter market placemaking example to share? Drop a message or comment with a pic and we'd love to feature it!

MEET-UP resources page: Coming soon

Community Workshop and AARP Vermont are hosting free, monthly Placemaking Meet-Ups for anyone working on placemaking or interested in getting started. Each month will feature a different theme, and will be a chance to explore placemaking examples, resources and tools. These meet-ups are a place to share knowledge, problem solve together, get inspired by the work happening across the state, and walk away with actionable projects and ideas.

Placemaking is about strengthening the connection between people and the places. It's about reinventing and re-engaging with public spaces so they are once again the hub of public life.

Please share with us any projects you’ve been working on that incorporate this month's theme. We would love to showcase them during our meet-up. Send a picture and short description to Kelly at kstoddardpoor [@] aarp.org.

Meet-ups are free and open to the public and will be held on Zoom. Future calls will feature different themes, and will be held (usually) on the last Friday of the month.
